Allergic rhinitis is one of the most common chronic medical conditions, affecting 30-40% of the population, which translates into hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Symptoms of allergic rhinitis include nasal congestion, nasal itching, runny nose, sneezing, eye itching, throat itching and postnasal drip.



Allergic rhinitis is typically caused by airborne allergens, such as Pollens, molds, animal dander, as well as dust mite and cockroach particles. There are a number of treatments for allergic rhinitis, to include avoidance measures, medications, and allergen immunotherapy. Avoidance of certain allergens, such as airborne pollen and mold, however, is difficult, if not impossible.
